You will receive the HEARTS EMS manual 1-week prior to the start of the course. This book will cover the fundamentals of an ECG and explain the HEARTS approach in detail. You will also receive pre and post-workshop quizzes to text your own knowledge.
This course will be completed in one full session (~6 hours total including breaks). In the first session, you will briefly learn the fundamentals of the HEARTS approach and understand how the approach can be used for physiologic and pathophysiologic correlation.
In the second session, you will practice with real, high-yield, pre-hospital ECG cases, with a focus on clinical ECG interpretation to guide management (i.e. the best next step). Cases will include difficult arrhythmia and false negative and false positive STEMIs, with an introduction to Occlusion Myocardial Infarctions (OMIs), which is covered in more details in HEARTS ACS.
The course is live and highly interactive, and no recording is permitted so that everyone feels comfortable participating.
